coffee at 5

it's freezing cold, it's five in the morning, i'm cold, hungry, tired and a little bit freaked out by "bad energy" (thanks to the elusive "christina" and the curse/hex she must've put on us) and all i could think of was taking group photos... that's me in the middle. ha. this is the first time i'm in any of the photos here on my blog. my friend on the left and my brother on the right. the three of us call this our "caravaggio" picture.

Tout casse, tout passe, tout lasse, excepté le souvenir.Everything breaks, everything passes, everything wearies, except the memory.

A story telling picture. The mood makes me think about a religious ceremony, the candle, people wearing a cap. May be a crop in the bottom and a panoramic picture?

For me, it doesnt need further tweaking. The rawness of the moment made all the difference. I really like it. This made me remember a line from the book ive just finished reading. It goes: "Do the day and let the day do you." Well, nobody said stephen king wasnt weird. :) But seriously, really nice work, hoody! :)

@Ron: thanks mucho ron! :-) that was the only light we had at 5 in the morning in that place. electricity ran on a tight schedule: 6am - 4pm. appreciate the comment... hope to see you around some more

I like it very much. It has a nice warm atmosphere of togetherness. I like the way the reflected light halves the image. Excellent.

@Garibaldi: grazie garibaldi! that photo was taken at 5 in the morning, almost complete darkness with just the candle to illuminate the balcony. using my standard nikon at 1.8 really helped with the light situation but not the DOF. haha.

to me ..your best picture !!!!!! but in which monastery did you get it ? malay balay in budkidnon ?????there is some and that place is also the best place regarding coffee plantations ...and some tasty coffee at 5 am with some french croissants could awake any monk ! ....

@jack: merci jacques! :-) i love this photo a lot because it really takes me back to that moment. we weren't in bukidnon (but that coffee plantation that you're talking about sounds great!). we were in banaue ... anyway, thanks again! :-)
